The vision of women in contemporary graphic art offers a broad view of different themes that largely shape the representation of femininity, but also allows for an analysis of representations, stereotypes, and normativities surrounding gender and sexual roles. This generates a reflection on the needs and desires of the artists included in the Women of Oaxacan Graphic Art portfolio.
Artists who converge in the city of Oaxaca, with extensive experience and knowledge in the field of printmaking, are invited by the workshop/gallery La Productora Gráfica del Bosque as part of a second portfolio that strengthens artistic relationships and recreates a sense of community.
Alejandra Canseco Alhil, Edith Chávez, Eve Vásquez, Gabriela Morac, Haydee Nucamendi, Mercedes López, Misayo Tsuitsui, Salime Guró, Pita Wild, Yamilet Asilem, is a network that represents and demonstrates that women have interesting proposals in the world of graphics, the artists have used different traditional techniques such as: lineography, xylography and lithography which resulted in 30 folders with 10 copies each.
