Alberto "El Negro" Ibañez (Oaxaca, Mexico, 1961) is one of the most prominent Oaxacan photographers of the 21st century; with more than 30 years of experience and various national and international exhibitions, including: "Del Mundo somos" (CFMAB, Oax, Mexico, 2020), "Camino Cimarrón" (Hotel Sin Nombre, Oax, Mexico, 2022), "Impresiones convergentes" (Galería NN, 2023), among others.

In the journalistic field, his photographic work has been distinguished, contributing to national and international media such as La Jornada, Proceso, Le Monde Diplomátique, and Courier Internacional. Some of the books in which his work can be found are: "Los Pueblos en sus rostros" (The Peoples in Their Faces) (2003), "Afro" (2011), and El blanco del Negro (The Black White) (2012).

Alberto Ibáñez has been constantly active throughout his life, capturing images that are part of the collective memory of our country and various places around the world (Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa). His work can be found in numerous collections and museums, such as the Francisco Toledo Photography Archive at CFMAB, the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, the Daniel Lombardo Museum, and others.
