Handmade in Oaxaca

These pieces were created with the intention of being an extension of the existing project of clay/ceramic earrings and accessories.
They are made entirely by hand (without the help of a mold or lathe) with the visible intention that each one has a free and organic shape.

Inspired somewhat by tube corals found on the sea floor, the ceramic material used is a white paste (white clay) fired at medium temperature, with an internal glaze/enameling which acts as a barrier to filtration. It has a rough-textured exterior painted with slips and hand-sgraffitoed on the front and back with themes from Mexican popular culture such as skulls and roosters.
