Art_ Who is Daniela Ram?
Daniela Ram is an Oaxacan artist who works with techniques such as relief engraving, linocut, and woodcut. She began her artistic training at the Oaxaca School of Fine Arts at the age of 19, studying for a degree in Fine Arts Instruction. It was there that she had her first experience with graphic art, particularly relief engraving, and where she began to develop her skills in creating her pieces.
During her second year of studies, Daniela began a Bachelor's degree in Visual and Plastic Arts at the same institution.
Her work is developed from natural elements that enrich the experience through shapes and textures, driven by a love and interest in flora and fauna, highlighting the importance of living beings in human life due to the awe generated by the behaviors, designs, colors, and functions of nature. You can see the influence of nature in her works through the illustrations of birds, the maguey flower, leaves, and roots. She has participated in local, national, and international exhibitions.
She currently leads Hoja Santa Taller, a project focused on the dissemination, exhibition, and production of women's graphic work. The main objective is to make visible the expression of women dedicated to the graphic arts, generating participation and interaction at the local, national, and international levels. Hoja Santa emerged from the constant questioning of the participation of women in graphic work, provoking the need to create a space to host activities related to the graphic arts.
